Pocholo” (Street Cleaner) is a cartoon character created and illustrated by Mauro “Malang” Santos and appeared in the pages of Graphic Magazine in 1967.

Nagtapos si Ave Guevarra ng Fine Arts sa University of Sto. Tomas at nagsimulang komiks illustrator bago lumipat sa national dailies. Dito ay ginawa niya ang cartoon strip na “Timboy” para sa Evening Express, at “Alin-alin ang naiba?” for Pilipino Express. He then created a sort of revival in his Alin-alin ang Naiba and make it “Spot the Changes” for Daily Star and “Malinaw ba ang Inyong mga Mata” for Pilipino Star. Naging contributor din si Ave sa STRP/Changes, na isang music publication. Some of his works ay na-exhibit sa West Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany.

Niknok

Niknok

“Niknok” is a cartoon character illustrated by Vic Geronimo and created by komiks comedy writer/novelist Pat V. Reyes. Niknok is a boy of Batute’s age and a replacement for the slot vacated by the latter when it is discontinued by the author. It also became an instant favorite of the younger readers of Pilipino Funny Komiks where it appeared in the 80’s and 90’s.

“Asiong Aksaya” is a cartoon character created by Larry Alcala during the 70’s and known for his wasteful way of using electricity, gasoline, water and other available energy. The main purpose of this cartoon strip is to promote the awareness on energy-saving. It has been adapted into a television series in 1977, and into a movie three times .The first "Asiong Aksaya" film is in 1977, followed by "Awat Na, Asiong Aksaya!" in 1979 and the last one is "Eto Na Naman si Asiong Aksaya" in 1980. Comedy actor Chiquito starred in all of this film.

Antonio Gabriel or “Tonyo” is a serious artist/illustrator during the 90’s and many of his works appeared in the pages of komiks published by Graphic Arts Service Inc. (GASI). But he did better in his cartooning job too. In a puzzle section of Kuwento Komiks he is the one who illustrated “Hanapin ang Mali” and “Alin-Alin ang Nabago”. He also adopt the name “Tonyo Kanaspugnaspug” in those cartoon strip he drew.
